Supplies Needed to Create 3 Valentine’s Day Sensory Bottles
- 3 sensory bottles
- Water
- Clear school glue
- Small funnel
- Multicolored heart-shaped gems/jewels
- Glitter (silver and red)
- Mini rubber bands (light pink, dark pink, and white)

How to Make Sensory Bottles for Valentine’s Day
Add glue to each sensory bottle, filling it 1/4 of the way.

Pour glitter into one bottle, add rubber bands to another bottle, and heart-shaped gems to the third bottle.
Fill the remainder of each bottle with water. Seal the lid tightly.

Shake each bottle to disperse the materials throughout the water/glue mixture, then set it aside.
Tip: Use clear glue instead of baby oil for a more fluid-moving sensory bottle.

Fun and Educational Ways to Use Valentine’s Day Sensory Bottles
Here are some ways to make these Valentine’s sensory bottles more educational and fun for your toddlers:
- Observation Skills: Encourage your child to shake, tilt, and roll the bottles to observe how the materials move. Discuss differences between the bottles, such as how quickly the glitter settles compared to the heart-shaped gems.

- Color Recognition: Use the bottles to talk about colors. Point out the pink and silver glitter, the variety of colors in the heart-shaped gems, and the shades of the mini rubber bands.
- Counting Practice: Count the heart-shaped gems or mini rubber bands as they’re added to their respective bottles.

- Calming Activity: Use the sensory bottles as a tool for emotional regulation. When your child feels overwhelmed, encourage them to watch the movement inside the bottles to relax. This is usually what we do!
- Storytelling: Create a Valentine’s Day story where each bottle represents a different character or setting. Let your child’s imagination run wild! You can draw faces on each to represent the emotions too.
